SVP, Short Form Video, Viacom Digital Studios
Zuri Rice is passionate about driving innovative scripted and unscripted storytelling in the long and short form space. She is currently Nickelodeon’s Senior Vice President of Short Form Video for Viacom Digital Studios. In this role, she spearheads the production and development of premium video content for Nickelodeon’s YouTube and Social channels for SpongeBob SquarePants, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Nickelodeon’s legacy and nostalgia properties, and all live action current series. Previously she was Nickelodeon’s Vice President of Longform Production and Development and oversaw series in the US, Europe and Canada such as Nickelodeon’s Lip Sync Battle spinoff, Lip Sync Battle Shorties and Amsterdam based Hunter Street as well as several development projects.
Before expanding to cover kid centric content, Rice worked in Content Strategy for the Nick+ suite of channels supervising long and shortform projects as well as overseeing NickMom series including NickMom Night Out and Take Me To Your Mother. Prior to joining NickMom, Rice was a Creative Content Consultant with Savannah Media working on digital content creation and management. Rice previously served as an executive with VH1 East Coast Production and Development. Her credits there include Celebrity Fit Club, Tool Academy, What Chilli Wants, World Series of Pop Culture, Scream Queens and The Fabulous Life. Before coming to VH1, Rice worked freelance at Spike TV, Lee Daniels Entertainment and LOGO in production and development on scripted and reality programming as well as film projects. She has served on the Board for Colour Entertainment, a nonprofit organization dedicated to maximizing the potential of executives of color who work in the entertainment industry. She has also served on the Step Up Women’s Network Teen Programs Committee. Rice graduated summa cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor degree in English.
