As the daughter of a former UN Official, Nzinga Blake grew up in Tokyo, Japan, Nairobi Kenya and the United States. She is a cum laude graduate of UCLA’s School of Film, Television and Digital Media and has worked in the entertainment industry for over 15 years as an award-winning television personality, executive
producer, writer, actress and social impact filmmaker. Nzinga has had the opportunity to work with several production companies, television networks, and global organizations including: ABC, CW, Cartoon Network, Al Gore’s Current TV, Showtime, BET, CBS Affiliate Network 10 Australia, TV Guide, Litton Entertainment, the United Nations International Labour Organization (UNILO), Causecast, Google, The Africa Channel, and Tribune Media During the Ebola epidemic in West Africa, she founded, wrote, directed and produced a PSA campaign entitled “End Ebola Now”. Nzinga created and launched a viral challenge entitled #ShakeEbolaOff with celebrities including Kevin Bacon, Naturi Naughton, Edi Gathegi, Sam Underwood, and Gavin Houston; the campaign received extensive domestic and international press coverage and generated at least 1.5 billion media impressions worldwide.

In 2014, Nzinga co-directed and produced the UNILO World AIDS Day and End Slavery Now PSAs featuring Olympic gold medalist Greg Louganis and actress Garcelle Beauvais. She recently directed and appeared in a social impact video with Grammy and Emmy Award-winning songwriter, Diane Warren, for the nonprofit Everytown for Gun Safety to support the movement to end gun violence after the Parkland school shooting massacre. Nzinga was also a writer and producer for Season 2 of Google’s award-winning scripted series, ‘GodComplX,’ which is currently streaming on Amazon Prime. This show is a social impact initiative in conjunction with Google’s Computer Science in Media team. She is currently the Executive Producer of Group Video Projects at Tribune Media, where she is developing a new storytelling arm that focuses on underrepresented/marginalized voices and social issues that need more media attention.
