Executive Director, Video, The New York Times
Nancy Donaldson Gauss is the Executive Director for Video. In this role, she is responsible for leading the editorial coverage for video and formulating strategy to make Times reporting more visual and the video more distinct. Nancy has conceived and executed innovative projects, including a series of open source investigative stories that The Times put forward for a Pulitzer last year. Her work is characterized by a fierce commitment to visual storytelling and her willingness to push the boundaries of innovation. She first joined The Times in 2008 on the multimedia team.
Previously, Nancy has been a supervising producer at CNN for both digital and long form documentary television. She has worked at the Washington Post as a senior multimedia journalist, where she worked across video, photography and multimedia. She has served as an educator for international and national journalism conferences and has taught regularly at The International Center for Photography.
