Gwendolyn Ortega has over 14 years’ experience in finance, corporate strategy, and business transformation, with her past 5 years spent at Walgreen Co. Gwen joined the Corporate Strategy team at Walgreen Co in 2013 where she worked to integrate the strategic planning processes during the merger of Walgreen Co and European based Alliance Boots. Post-merger, Gwen joined the One Plan Change Office, where her efforts have focused on driving and enabling change across the enterprise along with the successful execution of the company’s strategic plan. These efforts have included developing the enterprise roadmap along with monthly reporting, leading end-to-end value chain assessments with subsequent optimization efforts, and evolving the enterprise governance model to drive the right leadership conversations. Additionally, Gwen is part of the Women of Walgreens leadership team and an advocate for women’s advancement in the workplace. Prior to joining Walgreen Co, Gwen held various financial analysis roles before working in corporate strategy at Audi of America, leading strategic planning and business process optimization efforts focused on taking a customer-back lens to determine how best to achieve the strategic plan. After her time at Audi of America, Gwen worked for Booz Allen Hamilton as a strategy consultant leading transformational efforts for the United States government. Gwen holds an undergraduate degree in International Finance from The College of William and Mary and a Masters of Business Administration from The George Washington University.
