Joel has built a successful career in product management with more than 10 years directly developing new products and leading teams, after pivoting from an early career that spanned corporate financial management, IT consulting and project management.

Joel has worked at American Express for 13 years; in 10 unique jobs, with 9 leaders, in four different business units, in both New York and London. His current team is globally responsible for delivering products and capabilities for American Express’s loyalty & benefits programme. Having previously worked at Deloitte & Honeywell, Joel’s career has stretched across many disciplines and industries – with product management tapping into a core passion of his, for continuous learning, customer focus and team empowerment.

In the last two years, Joel moved from owning and delivering the products into a mid-level executive role for American Express, leading the leaders of both product and engineering disciplines. In a time where small and nimble start-ups set the pace of change, Joel has championed for a lean product mindset and been at the forefront of transitioning American Express’s product skillsets and management practices to complete in the highly competitive payments industry.
