Travis Bernard joined TechCrunch in 2014 to lead audience development, and he successfully used a data-driven approach to grow the site’s average monthly readership from about 10M to well over 17M in the matter of a few years. Travis capitalized on the “social media and search” traffic wave while also doubling down on efforts to grow core readership through newsletters, product improvements, partnerships, and surveying. For the past 2-3 years, Travis has led TechCrunch’s membership program, Extra Crunch. The product launched in February of 2019, and it appeals to investors, entrepreneurs, startup teams, and business school students.
