Elena Grotto

SVP, Transformation Experience & Culture Change, Edelman

Elena Grotto is a senior vice president on Edelman’s business transformation team, advising clients who are navigating a moment of significant change – a culture transformation, portfolio expansion and realignment, a turnaround and recovery or the repositioning of their business.

Operating across diverse industries, Elena helps her clients develop strategies to shift the mindsets and behaviors of target stakeholders, leveraging leaning & development methodologies, behavioral science insights and change management approaches.

As a Prosci-certified change manager, Elena specializes in counseling clients through a range of change projects, from targeted interventions – when a company needs to adopt a new behavior to support a specific mandate – to holistic transformation impacting internal and external messaging. Elena’s clients include a 30,000-employee health care system that was navigating a complex business transformation. Working in lockstep with C-suite leaders, she led a team that launched a purpose-led culture, which sped up the adoption of a new operating model and business strategy. She also recently co-led multiple workstreams to support a major integration for a multinational pharmaceutical, chemical and life sciences company.

Elena joined Edelman after over 10 years at the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago, managing company-wide internal and external communications, ensuring story integration across earned-owned-paid platforms. This included a business transformation marked by a company rebrand and a $16 million dollar building redesign that was precipitated by a desire to better engage key stakeholders. Elena was also responsible for managing relationships with corporate and community partners to bolster brand equity, and she played an active role in connecting the organization’s business goals to the Mayor of Chicago’s tourism strategy, serving as the brand’s national and international spokeswoman.
